Start with the Child
Education is most effective when a the learner can apply the lesson to their lives. Somehow incorporate this new experience into the experiences that they already have. Science projects are best when they link with the lives of students. Therefore, utilizing the anatomy of a student and their current situation can be an opportunity to learn and a teachable moment. These lesson plans and science project ideas can be utilized by parents, even in describing the world of the Celiac to their children.
Educating the Educator
As with most people, Celiac disease can be new to the classroom teacher. Help the teacher out. Give them prepared resources that they can utilize.
This section is prepared by a certified teacher with two Master Degrees in Education.
Each child is different. Hopefully some of the ideas will be applicable for your family or an inspiration for a new idea.
